A black hole just 27000 light years from us and four million times bigger than our sun, but we are safe

We all have heard about black hole, its concept and existence. After 16 years of research scientists have found that we too have a black hole named "The Black Pearl"

What are they?
Black holes are objects having really strong gravity that even light cannot escape them.

Why we are interested in them?
By seeing what black holes are, we get a wrong perception that they are dangerous. But from astronomical view they hide many secrets that may be related directly or indirectly to the creation of our Universe.
Dr Massey,of the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS), said :
"They had a role in bringing matter together and if you had a high enough density of matter then you have the conditions in which stars could form."

Black Pearl
Black pearl is the black hole in our Galaxy "Milky way" known as Sagittarius*A (SGR A). It is just 27000 light years from Earth and as big as four times the Sun. Yet the energy radiation emitted is billions of times weaker than the Black holes in other galaxies. This was a mystery why this huge black hole is quiescent, until NASA scientist found out why is it so.
This huge giant was not like this before, It was far more active.
Using a concept called Light echoing scientist could find out that around 300 years ago it was active and had a huge burst and after that it is resting.

NASA with collaboration with Japanese universities is keeping eyes on this black pearl.
